Earlier today, it was reported that undefeated, IBF welterweight champion, Floyd Mayweather Jr was arrested on felony charges after his ex-girlfriend alleged that he beat her and stole her cell phone in front of their three children. Turns out that it’s considered grand-larceny (a charge that could result in up to five years in prison) when the goods in question are valued at $250 or more.
- was who was arrested several times since 2002 for battery and violence charges in Las Vegas and Grand Rapids.;
- pleaded no contest to misdemeanor for assault and bar fight in 2005;
- was acquitted of hitting and kicking the same ex-girlfriend (above) outside a Las Vegas night-club;
- who appeared on dancing with the stars;
With so much at stake, what is Mayweather thinking?! Mayweather’s ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris, alleges that Mayweather threatened to kill her and her boyfriend. Reportedly, he has also threatened to have other people harm her. Mayweather has certainly talked a lot of trash about what he intends to do to Pacquiao. Shouldn’t he be focusing on more than an ex-girlfriend and her phone calls? Would he rather find himself sitting in a jail cell than making boxing history? After such an impressive career, I can’t imagine that Mayweather would want to go down like the infamous Mike Tyson . Wouldn’t it be better to end his career in the footsteps of more classy fighters, like Sugar Ray Leonard …or even the “Pac Man ,” himself?
